reasons and regrets

I believe there is a reason for everythng. Yah maybe. Just that most of the time we are not intelligent enough to know what exactly it is.

There is a reason why there is a lack of names on this very blog.

There is a reason for the stupid photo there.

There is a reason why the posts are getting far and few in between.

And there definitely is a reson why there is no money in that ang bao. (So YK stop complaining)

Regrets... i've had a few. Definitely. Are they supposed to make us grow stronger and learn and grow up? Or are they supposed to be there for us to see how much of a failure we are?

I'm not going into the specifics here. I think i've grown up (or can i say mature) a bit over these couple of years. I think. But i also think i'm still quite childish sometimes. The paradox and dilemna of life.

It has been a while since i've been feeling so pent up. It has been an even longer time since thinking (yes with my brain... yes i have one) gives me a headache.

Sidetrack a bit here. Read an article the other day in the papers about this guy whose surname is uncannily similar to the word "headache". The actual spelling i forgot but its very similar. And the funny thing is people have been calling him "headache" and also the butt of certain jokes along the way. Even he himself thought that was the correct pronunciation. Until like some time back (he is now in his 30s mind you) that he found out the actual and correct pronunciation. Its supposed to be something else. I also forgot.

No that wasn't supposed to be funny.

And i'm losing my funniness.

But i was complimented twice the other day.

Wanted to scan an article from today's Urban (that came with the Straits Times) but am just so lazy. Go read it if you are a keen reader of the papers. Actually if you are a keen reader of the papers you would most probably have already read it yah.

Here's to all the work and notes and tutorials and projects piling up around me.... I'm going to sleep!!

Newsflash : Newcastle United sack Souness

Some extracts below...

'Newcastle United today announced that the employment of Graeme Souness has been terminated with immediate effect,' it read.

'Glenn Roeder will take charge of first team affairs for the immediate future. Roeder will be assisted by captain Alan Shearer and will be caretaker manager for Saturday's home Premiership game against Portsmouth at St James' Park.'

Shepherd's decision to sack Graeme Souness was not unexpected, and came today within hours of last night's dreadful 3-0 Premiership defeat at Manchester City, which left the Magpies 15th in the league table and just six points clear of third-bottom Birmingham.

It had seemed only a matter of time after fans staged a lengthy protest following the 1-0 home defeat by Blackburn on January 21, with last night's defeat at Eastlands meaning they have taken only one point from the last 18 on offer and are without a Premiership win since December 17.

That was simply not good enough for a manager who had been given £50million with which to rebuild his squad and then been charged with the task of securing a top-six finish after last season's disappointing slump into 14th place.

In truth, many fans never believed he was the right man for the job, citing his habit of falling out with players and his safety-first approach, and despite his assurances that both suggestions were wrong, they were to ring depressingly true.

Even as he launched his reign with seven victories and two draws before the wheels came off at Bolton, the thrilling football of the Sir Bobby Robson era was missing, and when the club's defensive frailties were once again exposed, he could do little about it.

Injuries have taken a crippling toll on the Magpies this season, but despite heavy spending, the current squad is actually weaker in depth than the one he inherited.

Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd has quickly found the pressure deflected onto his shoulders by fans and former players after sacking Graeme Souness.

According to former Magpies heroes Chris Waddle and Mick Quinn, Shepherd must make sure his next appointment turns out to be a success.

Quinn, who spent three years at Newcastle from 1989 to 1992, insisted Souness could have no complaints or excuses.

'He's spent £60million so don't give me bad injuries (as an excuse),' said Quinn. 'I think now it's the last chance for Freddy Shepherd to get it right as Newcastle chairman, or they will call for his head up there.'

Damning final comment there. Although the losses are getting quite disgraceful lets cut the man some slack. He tried but everyone knows he's not a very good tactician (i'm holding myself back from using the word 'manager'). That chapter has ended lets move on now. Hopefully someone good is appointed next. Shearer is not ready. That's for sure. Glenn Roeder?? West Ham was relegated the last time he was in charge. God bless the magpies now.

And it's not helping with a Blackburn fan harping on his team's 'fantastic' and 'exciting' 4-3 win over Man Utd.
