the sun and the sand

Yesterday was a day of enjoyment, fun and hot!

Was asked by a friend to help out at...

I was at Sunset bay to do admin for Beach Fiesta, counting and tele-ing the scores for the 25 teams who joined the volleyball competition. It's really nice and fine weather and the 3 of us, kept on exposing our skin under the sun! HA! We also came up with alot of jokes... like the clouds not working overtime to cover the sun... and not enough clouds to queue up to come to Sentosa... (Courtesy of Mervyn... tired to come up with this myself... Haha...)

And of couse there a pegeant added into the mix which sadly i didn't catch much of...

Let the games begin...

Actually, truth be told, i think i didn't do much for the whole day anyways... only stayed under the scorching sun and heat for hours and reapplying the suntan lotion. I think that works because my skin is still not peeling 24 hours on. The sun was powerful man i tell you. Scorching is an understatement. But we refused to seek shelter. Haha... mad men... and women. A bit dehydrated at the end of the day. But it was fun. Hasn't been to Sentosa and the beach for some time and with work piling up it was a good time to relax a bit with the sun and the sand. And also a good time to get some tan with the weather going this way lately.

BEFORE... at the start fo the day and event...

AFTER... near the end...

Notice the tan?? Yah and the suntan lotion as well.

4 of the 6 "adminstrators". The other 2 have something on so left earlier.

So many people wearing Havaianas. And the weird thing is the main sponsor for this event was newurbanmale.com who sells Havaianas. Coincidences everywhere.

After everything has ended, we were on our way to catch the bus when we passed by the newly added attraction at Sentosa -- the Luge. "Sentosa brings you the first ever luge in Southeast Asia. Part go-cart, part-toboggan, pure excitement – the luge is a fun-filled gravity ride that's safe for all ages. With a unique steering and braking system that allows you to make the ride as leisurely or as exciting as you want." Together with this is a chairlift from Siloso beach all the way up to the Imbiah Lookout (i think that's what it's called). No we didn't take the luge. We tried the chairlift only. One way.

At the start as it was going up, i was filled with apprehension as there are no safety nets below us and we were going higher and higher. Also the entire thing just felt quite unsafe. (Of couse it should be quite safe as i survived it and is still writing here.) Also we were wearing slippers and we were also so scared that our slippers will slip off (no pun intended) and then we'll have to go home bare-footed. So have to kiap tighter. Resulting in a mild cramp in the toes after a day at the beach at the end of the ride. But on the whole it was quite nice. It was chilly at the top (freezing in the weather) part of the ride and the winds were strong. Scary. My friend said it felt like Final Destination 3. He tends to exaggerate things. But what was nice was the view of the beaches and sea and Singapore along the highest part of the ride. Awesome. Then it ended too soon. Haha. Not enough time to soak in the view.

Took this at the along the top. Camera phone still not very good. It was much better.

To cap off a great day... NEWCASTLE WON AGAIN!! Yeah... we beat Bolton 3-1 at SJP to keep our unbeaten run going. It has been six games since we last lost and we even won five of those. Bring on Manchester Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea!!

But just saw and read a piece of very distressing news. Really don't feel like talking about it. ET you better watch it. It was very cruel of you to do this. To think i treated you as a friend.

Haha. Sigh. This world is so full of lies and shit.

Lack of sleep and water!!
